Home Information

OFF-SITE CUSTOM BUILT HOME IS A BARGAIN FOR THE RIGHT
BUYER: GUEST HOUSE, CAMP, STARTER HOME, ACCESSORY DWELLING. The current build is a new kind of build project—a one-bedroom home with just under 400 square footage of living space, fully applianced using quality materials and the build follows the newest building code requirements. The home is being built in the building shop located at the Huot Tech Center in Laconia. Students work with their instructors' guidance and support of LRBRA to complete the build and eventually sell the home upon its completion. This project is a great learning experience in all aspects of building and can be transported to a homesite upon its completion. Ideally, the homeowner has land and can get their site work completed to fit the build to use as a starter home, guest house or accessory dwelling.

Net proceeds from the sale benefits workforce development — helping the next generation of building trade professionals.

Lakes Region Builders & Remodelers Association (LRBRA) work alongside students from the Huot Technical Center's Building Construction and Plumbing and Heating classes to help construct “build projects” each year. The successful house builds have energized the building & plumbing programs and have helped shape students career paths with immediate job opportunities, apprenticeships and educational scholarships to further their education into the trades. Lakes Region Builder’s dedication to work alongside the students on such meaningful initiatives exemplifies their commitment to workforce development.

The students gain a lot of industry knowledge throughout the school year learning how to frame, install windows & flooring, cabinet door alignment, trim work, staining & painting, insulation techniques, setting the range top, cutting in the sink, plumbing the bathroom and kitchen areas. Under the watchful eye of the Lakes Region Builders, they also have many opportunities to meet with trade professionals to ask questions, talk about techniques as well as job opportunities.

The Lakes Region Builders and Remodelers Association focus on workforce development helps support this extensive project as part of it's commitment to help inspire the next generation of building trade professionals.
