We are very excited to be able to showcase the home in person so that parade visitors can better understand our Workforce Initiative. This home is located in the building shop of the Huot Technical Center which is located in the backside of Laconia High School. The exterior of the home features a black asphalt roof, white LP SmartSide trim and siding and black Pella windows and sliding door. Black light fixtures add to the modern farmhouse style. The farmhouse look continues on the inside with Johnson Pine whitewashed nickel gap on the walls and almond tongue & groove pine on the raised ceilings. A fully-applianced kitchen with white cabinets and black granite countertops, and a spacious bedroom and full bath complete the floor plan. Radiant-heated LVP wood-toned flooring throughout the home creates an inviting atmosphere that will keep you warm and cozy year round. Upon completion, the student built homes are available to purchase. The home on the tour is under contract but visitors will get to see the shop and talk about the current build that is being worked on for this school year. mYou will have the opportunity to Meet the instructors of the Building Construction and HVAC programs. Be prepared to be impressed, this is a must stop for everyone!

The Lakes Region Builders & Remodelers Association (LRBRA) is proud to partner with the Huot Technical Center and industry professionals on one of the region’s most impactful workforce development initiatives - the Huot House program.

Each year, students in Huot Technical Center’s Building Construction and Plumbing & Heating programs work alongside LRBRA members to construct a fully functional Modular Home (Accessory Dwelling Unit, Tiny Home, etc.) from start to finish. Now in its ninth build, the program provides students with invaluable hands-on experience, allowing them to apply classroom learning in a real-world setting while developing the technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional standards required in today’s construction industry. The Huot Technical Center is now a Certified Modular Builder.

Throughout the school year, students participate in every phase of the build, including framing, insulation, window installation, flooring, cabinetry, trim work, painting, plumbing, and finish work. Guided by experienced instructors and industry professionals, they also gain exposure to career opportunities, apprenticeships, and scholarships while building connections with local trade experts.

Constructed inside the school's construction shop, each Tiny Home is built to current building codes and designed to be energy efficient. The success of the Huot House program has energized the construction and plumbing programs while helping shape students' career paths and inspire the next generation of skilled trade professionals.

As part of LRBRA’s ongoing commitment to workforce development, the association continues to support this meaningful initiative and the students who make it possible. For more information about getting involved or purchasing a future home, please contact LRBRA.
